First Assignment
Researching your topic and a first summary of your findings
In the first session you will choose your topic for this course. Read the article(s) that were provided for your topic or look for other ones that you think could help you better. After getting an overview, find more relevant articles. Spend a few hours reading these articles to get a better idea about your topic and take notes when reading the articles. Refine your topic based on your readings. Make it not narrow and not too wide. Ideally you want to work on a topic that there are at least around 10-20 articles in the area, but not something like "digital tools for cancer" which is so wide that will need to read hundreds of articles to get a good overview of the topic. Once you are done with finding the relevant literature and reading and summarizing them, write a report.
This report (2-4 pages) should explain what is the topic of your work, give a summary of what papers you have read so far, how did you find those relevant papers, what are your next steps for your work (for examples which sub-topics you think will require need more research, what other papers you are going to read, etc.).
