Learning journal 1
1. Describe yourself as an English language learner and user. What kind of experiences come to mind? What kinds of activities have you enjoyed doing with English in earlier schooling? What kind of activities have you not enjoyed? Why? How much English do you use nowaways in your life?
2. What kind of language learning strategies have you used before? What do you believe helps you with learning and developing one's language skills the most?
3. Regarding your current needs with using English as a part of your university studies and your future needs as a professional, what do you consider to be your strengths? How about areas needing development? What kinds of skills would you like to focus on during this course?
4. Do you feel you understand what this autonomous approach to learning means? Do you understand the course's overall requirements? How do you feel about taking more responsibility for your own learning? You can still ask any doubts in next week's meeting and in the individual consultation with the teacher.
5. Below you can see earlier students' interest areas for individual projects and group activities. Take a look at what is listed there. Then in the learning journal, reflect if you have gotten any more ideas for what you would like to do in this course. Remember to also mark your preliminary interests in the separate Google sheet. Marking your interest there does not obligate you to anything, it is simply marking your potential interest.
