Task 2: Profile creation and promotion
Completion requirements
Due: Thursday, 23 March 2023, 1:00 PM
Your task is to:
Thereafter, promote your profile and video to a potential employer and ask for feedback. Firstly, arrange the meeting time: you can select a company you could consider as an employer, or a contact person from a job advert. Remember to consider a variety of domains and also smaller companies, not just the obvious well-known software companies. In any case, do not use a relative, your current employer, or somebody that knows you well for this task. If you have difficulties arranging a meeting, contact the teacher. Lets use this Google Sheet to avoid contacting the same people multiple times
After the meeting time is set, send your profile and video to the potential employer. In the meeting, present the profile and video and ask for feedback. What impressed the employer? What could be improved? Would they hire the person based on such a profile?
After the meeting, create a 5-7 minutes long presentation for the next contact session about your findings. Firstly, the presentation should include the video you made, as well as a brief summary of your profile. Thereafter, describe explicitly the professional you contacted and the rationale for contacting him. Finally, summarize the feedback you got. What were the strengths? How could the profile be improved?
The deliverables of this task include the presentation slides, a link to the video, and a link to your LinkedIn profile. If you do not wish to use LinkedIn, you can include your CV as PDF.
This task is done individually.
