Welcome to the Biomedical Ultrasonics course!
This is fully an on-campus course, which is starting at noon on 13.9. (U413c, Kandikeskus, Otakaari 1). Welcome to join the first lecture for details about the course execution. The course includes lectures, exercises as well as a course project, which includes lab work.Please, follow the Announcements to get important information about the first lecture and other course arrangements.
Ultrasound creates value to biomedicine:It might not be self-evident that ultrasound does not only enable imaging or measurements, but importantly it can create various non-linear effects, which can be used for medical purposes. Examples of the opportunities of ultrasound in biomedicine beyond imaging include drug delivery, non-invasive surgery, gene delivery, sonoporation etc. The physics behind these methods and many more will be covered during the course, in connection with the real-world use.
