I will contact you primarily through this function (individual messages), through the feedback function in MyC (see Grades below; feedback on tasks), and “Announcements from the teacher” on the frontpage of our MyC space (group feedback and any information that should reach all of you). If you do not read your aalto.fi email regularly, make sure you forward them automatically to the mailbox you check more frequently.

During the course, you will be submitting weekly assignments via MyC and receiving individual and/or group feedback from your teacher. Please make sure that you read this feedback.  Submit all assignments via MyC, not via email.

Time Management. In this course, you are welcome to set your own deadlines. However, there is a last deadline that is the same for everyone on the course for each assignment. You are encouraged to submit the assignments before the deadline. If you know that keeping deadlines (DLs) or starting early enough on assignments is not your strength, please change the DLs to at least two days earlier so that you have that extra time, in case you need it. These DLs cannot be negotiated (unless illness with doctor’s certificate) and you are expected to complete all assignments and on time.

3 ECTs = 81 hrs in 6 weeks -> Please reserve about 13.5 hours a week for this course in your schedule.

The oral part accounts for approximately 1/3 of the workload, the textbook part for about 2/3, with individual variations to be expected.

Assignments

We take this course week by week. You should read (and take into account) the teacher feedback on TA1, OA2, and OA3 and the peer feedback on OA4b before submitting the following assignment/s unless otherwise advised during the course. Throughout the course, it is essential that you read both the group feedback and the individual feedback that you receive from your teacher. All assignments are mandatory. You may receive teacher feedback on OA2 & OA3 at the same time, and TA2- feedback at the end of the course or throughout the course.

** Negotiate with your peer if this deadline is too tight for you and inform your teacher of the new deadline. Please take into account that both you and your peer need time to finalize your pitches for OA4c.

The course follows strict deadlines. If you for any reason cannot keep a deadline due to unforeseen circumstances, please notify the teacher at your earliest convenience (please avoid missing deadlines though, as this will mean losing activity points that go into your course grade). If you are ill and need to miss a deadline, please present a doctor's certificate.

For your convenience, the materials and assignments for the oral part and for the textbook part are gathered in separate sections. (Note checking only under "Assignments" "Forum" "Resources" in the right-hand corner below the banner will not show all materials/tasks relevant for each OA and TA in this course.)
To see feedback from the teacher, click on ‘Grades’ in the section menu. Some feedback is also provided e.g., via "Announcements from the teacher".
