LC-1322 - Thesis Writing for Engineers (MSc) (w), Lecture, 7.8.2023-9.6.2024
Kurssiasetusten perusteella kurssi on päättynyt 09.06.2024 Etsi kursseja: LC-1322
How to get started?
Start with Defining your thesis and scheduling a feedback session to discuss your outline. Of course, you can work on the self-study modules at the same time if you find it beneficial (but you cannot receive feedback on your chapters until the Defining your thesis task is complete).
Please note that the self-study materials for Module A are based on the Astra format that places review exercises after each video, whereas all other self-study modules contain the exercises within the videos. To get credit for viewing a video, you must get 80% of the exercises correct, as shown in the progress bar in MyCourses. Each module ends with an analysis task that requires either analyzing example texts written by earlier students (e.g., Analysis Task 1) or exploring the conventions in your own field (e.g., Analysis task 2). To finish the course, you must successfully complete the videos and analysis tasks from at least three modules, A–E, submit text from three chapters of your own thesis corresponding to these modules, and schedule feedback sessions with a course teacher for those chapters. Of these three feedback sessions, only Writing Task 1 (Introduction chapter) is compulsory for all students (except for students requiring ELEC-E0210) and should ideally be completed before submitting text for feedback in Modules B-E.
*Electrical engineering students who are required to take ELEC-E0210 as a compulsory subject cannot access Module A or receive feedback on their introduction chapter, as this module is also used as a core component in that course.
