Contextual speech, 1-3min.

A speech that´s meant for a specific situation, for example "congratulations", "thank you for...", "welcome..." etc. In a contextual speech it´s important to define the situation. Where are you, who´s in the audience and what´s the aim of the speech? Often in a contextual speech you´re speaking to one specific person (or a couple of people), but there´s a wider audience too. In this case, it´s important that´s nobody´s excluded.

You can come up with whatever fictional situation or something that might actually happen in future.

Here´s a suggestion for a structure: 1. Start with the main point: what´s your main message, what do you want to say? (Congratulations granny on your 100th b-day..) 2. Make it more concrete and personal, share examples, stories etc... (Granny, you´ve always been an important person in my life, for instance, once we were camping together..blaa blaa..) 3. Address the whole audience (Let´s all enjoy this awesome summer day.. what a nice opportunity to hang out with everybody..)

Don´t make it too official! Try to use simple language, avoid jargon and try to be yourself: then it´s more real and more effective!
