Elevator Pitch/Oral part Overview
Overview - Elevator Pitch
For the oral part of the course, you will construct and deliver an elevator pitch. The materials will guide you through this process. You will use Panopto for recording, producing, and storing the video. (Panopto is Aalto University's multimedia platform, which is integrated into MyCourses. You can also record with zoom and then upload the file to Panopto) To successfully digitally record your video, you need a device with a camera and a mic, e.g., computer, tablet or phone. If this is a problem, please let me know at the very beginning of the course.
Your task is to submit a 1- to 3-minute video of your pitch (where you are visually present when speaking). The process includes learning how to develop a pitch, creating a practice video, giving and receiving peer feedback, and submitting the final version of your video. This is a well-rehearsed, free speech. No PPT slides and if you feel you need to use notes, make sure you do not rely on them and that you don't read from paper! Rehearse well!
