Electronics workshop
In this voluntary workshop, you will learn about electronics through hands-on prototyping. By attending all sessions 1,2,3 and by doing the homework or taking the advanced sessions you can earn 1 more credit as a part of PDP!
- Session 1 on Monday is about basic electronics, like what is the difference between voltage and current, how to read electronic symbols etc. Lecture slides available here.
- Session 2 on Tuesday will be about sensors and Arduino programming, so take your laptop with you.
- Session 3 on Wednesday will about Internet of Things (IoT) programming, with something like ESP8266, so take your laptop with you.
- In addition to these sessions, there will be a short soldering session which will be done in smaller groups that can be decided during the first session.
The sessions are arranged by DF Electroshop staff Shreyasi Kar and Teemu Ronkka. Also Joel Tolonen will be there to help you with connecting the wires. When you come to DF, please use a face mask, remember to use the hand sanitizer at DF lobby and mark your visit on the lobby iPad.
If you cannot come to DF, you can also join remotely with this link: https://aalto.zoom.us/j/61674462302 If you join remotely, you need to borrow home the necessary Arduinos and other electronic parts from Shreyasi beforehand, unless you already happen to have your own parts. Also, troubleshooting might not be possible remotely during the session but a separate meeting can be set up for that.
Sign up below for the sessions that you intend to attend.
