Assignment 1: Research Exercise
(obligatory, max 20 points)
Step 1: Checking the academic literature
Based on the preliminary exercise and your (roughly) defined research idea for your master thesis, read at least 3 identified articles of the relevant literature.
Give a summary (approximately 1500 words each) on each of these articles, including the topic, their research design, their data collection methods used, and the analytical approach (how the collected data is analyzed). For qualitative articles, include information about the general qualitative tradition and the samples they used (and why they used this), as well as their strategy how to analyze these data. Include (if mentioned) also information how the authors want to ensure validity and reliability. Do not copy and paste the abstract! The goal is to actively look at how these authors conducted research and why they employed their specific apporaches. Like this, you should learn learn how to apply the theoretical knowledge which you learned throughout this course.
