Learning Outcomes (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020): 

The objective of the course is to provide the students with an in-depth understanding of managing a service, product or software development and launch, as well as, the management and business models connected to services and products.
The course discusses the life-cycle of a software venture, including product idea, founding a company, and acquiring risk financing. Furthermore, the focus is on recognizing, analyzing and choosing the alternative business models for the product or service, with a special emphasis on digital goods and bundles consisting of software and connected services.
Different types of business models are analyzed for their competitive advantage, as well as, earning and pricing models with pertinent distribution channels. Cases and examples are used to illustrate the opportunities in creating novel business models in services. The students are expected to actively participate in the group works and presentations.

Content (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020): 

The core content of the course includes the main models, tools and concepts of business models, value propositions, service design, pitching skills, innovation management, ICT-enabled new business models and services, and platforms of IT-based business.
