Huomaa! Kurssikuvaus vahvistetaan kahdeksi lukuvuodeksi kerrallaan ja esimerkiksi osaamistavoitteet, arviontimenetelmät ja keskeinen sisältö pysyvät pääsääntöisesti samana. Kullakin toteutuskerralla voidaan kuitenkin kurssiesitteen avulla tarkentaa ja muuttaa kurssin toteutustapaa, kuten kontaktiopetuksen järjestämistapaa, arviointimenetelmien painotusta tai materiaaleja.

OSAAMISTAVOITTEET

Opiskelija tutustuu keskeisiin teoreettisiin konsepteihin esittävän ja mediavälitteisen taiteen alueilla; opiskelija heijastelee ja hyödyntää teoreettisia asetelmia taiteellisessa työssä ja näkemyksellisessä ajattelussa.

Sisältö

    Kurssilla keskitytään siihen kuinka erilaiset teoreettiset lähestymistavat antavat työkaluja analysoida omaa ajattelua ja suunnittelua, ja kuinka ne luovat ja lisäävät yhteyksiä käytännön työskentelyyn.

    This
    workshop focuses on the corresponsive relationship that exists between the
    designer/maker and the materials they work with. The theoretical approach
    provided, centers on the cultural theory of material thinking, mainly through
    anthropologist Tim Ingold’s views on how our material interactions with the
    world shape our thoughts and actions, our being within it, as our actions shape
    the world.

    In
    practice, each student will examine and reflect upon their own creative
    processes through the provided theories and in relation to materiality while
    making/creating or experimenting.  The
    creative process can consist of for example drawing, different material or
    immaterial experiments or even creating a (minor) piece of work/design as an end
    result. The emphasis within the workshop is not on the material results created
    during it, but on observing how materiality affects the maker and what this
    correspondence may consist of.

    Arviointi perustuu läsnäoloon, aktiivisuuteen ja kykyyn ajatella taiteellista käytäntöä ja teoriaa dialogisessa suhteessa toistensa kanssa.

    Assessment
    is based on assignments and participation, activity and ability to think
    artistic practices and theory in dialogue with each other.


Työmäärä toteutustavoittain

  • Voimassa 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Luennot, keskustelut ja harjoitustehtävät. Lähiopetus 43 t, itsenäinen työskentely ja/tai ryhmätyöt 65t

    Kurssi jakautuu kahteen osaan, joista ensimmäiset kaksi viikkoa koostuvat luennoista ja jälkimmäinen osa kahden viikon työpajasta. Kumpikin osa on 2 op.
