On completing the course, you will be able:
- to describe your state of health, and talk about your free time, hobbies and past events
- to participate in simple conversations related to social life or to running errands and involving an immediate situation or a past experience
- to retrieve information needed for course topics (on recreational opportunities, for example) from various sources
- and you will know some of the main features of Finnish recreation and pastimes.
Content (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020):
- Further additions to the vocabulary of daily life (health and illness, free time, hobbies).
- Increased comprehension of Finnish grammar (object forms for continual processes, ‘täytyä’, ‘MA infinitives’ (-maan/-massa/-masta), ‘-minen’ gerunds, imperfect negative conjugations).
- Practising simple conversations for social life or errands and transactions, especially for verbal fluency.
Assessment Methods and Criteria (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020):
Passing the course requires regular attendance (max. two absences allowed), active participation in class and completion of the given homework. Written examination and oral examination. The weight given to the various assignments in the final evaluation is specified at the start of the course.
