CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    During the course, students learn advanced printing and finishing techniques and become familiar with the principles of sustainable design of printed fabrics and textile finishing.

    The specific content may vary each year and is presented in the course syllabus. The course may also include collaborations with companies.

    Learning activities: Lectures, demonstrations and other contact teaching, group and individual tutoring, independent assignment.

     

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Grading criteria: Assignments and participation in teaching

    Criteria for the assignment: Understanding of printing and finishing techniques, taking sustainability into account, creativity and artistic application of learned techniques in samples/collection, documentation of technical data on info cards

    Lectures: 5 h

    Tutorials and experimentation at the printing workshop: 15 h

    time to reflect: 11 h

    It is possible to complete up to 10 credits by continuing the course independently. For all students completing 3 cr or more it is possible to get 1-2 individual 0,5 h tutoring sessions (depending on the credits). Participation on 2 h feedback session at the end of the spring is also required.

    It is possible to take the course free of charge as instructed by the teacher at the beginning of the course.

Prerequisites
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Muoti BA: Tekstiili- ja värjäysteknologia, Pintasuunnittelu ja painokangas.

    Muotoilu BA: Muotoilun työprosessit, Tekstiilituotannon materiaalit ja menetelmät/Studiotuotannon tekniikat ja materiaalit (tekstiili), prefarably also Tekstiilimallisto, prosessit ja viimeistykset.

    MA students: Same as in BA or Printed Fabrics Studio and Experimental Textile Design, or previous experience in printed fabrics (agreed by responsible teacher).
