CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

Principles and practices of real estate finance, real estate in a mixed asset portfolio. Application of financial theories to real estate investment, real estate portfolios and portfolio construction. Indirect real estate investments. Portfolio strategy and implementation.

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

The assessment methods and criteria will be announced in course syllabus.

  • Applies in this implementation:

The course will consist of lectures and a home exam.

The students can choose whether they attend the lectures, or not, but as the literature on the topic is relatively scattered, it is highly recommended to take part in the lectures.

Participating in the lectures will be helpful for completing the home exam, as we will be working on similar tasks during the contact sessions. Students not participating in the sessions are guided to be mentally prepared to active information search as part of their independent study.

Workload
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

160 hours (6 cr). The workload per activity type will be presented in the course syllabus.

  • Applies in this implementation:

The work load in the course is 160 hours.

For those students participating in the course, the workload consists of lectures (about 25 %); preparing, recapping and revising materials for/after lectures (25%), independent reading (25%) and home exam (25%). The division of workload between these items is relatively arbitrary, cutting short on one will most likely lead to additional work on the other.

For students not participating in the lectures, 75% of workload will be in reading and 25% completing the home exam.

Students can choose flexibly how much they participate in the contact teaching. However, guidance on the topics is provided during the contact hours and personal tutoring will not be provided outside the classroom.
