The course gives the students an introduction to the concept of street furniture and their use in public space, especially in an urban environment.

The students will study and understand the special conditions and requirements that street furniture are submitted. They will study the relationship between furniture and the architectural urban space as well as the human scale. During the course students will design a piece of furniture using various materials and manufacturing techniques destined to a given use and location.

Content (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020): 

Design and working methods includes, a research in the field of public space, sketching, model making, drafting working drawings and making scale models in scales from 1:5 to 1:1, as well as prototype making in scale 1:1.

Participation in briefing, tutoring sessions, project/practical assignment and presentation of the results
