The summer Bachelor seminar does not meet weekly, but is mostly based on individual working. The instructors are prof. Markku Kuula and Markku Tinnilä, who can be contacted by email (markku.kuula@aalto.fi and markku.tinnila@aalto.fi). They will be available on daily basis until Midsummer, and during July with a bit longer response time. To assist writing the thesis, the video tutorials are available at:


The seminar presentations will be held on August. Date is not yet determined, but all participants will be reserved a time for presenting their work .

However, if you want to graduate before end of July, this is also possible. Please contact instructors in this case.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    In the seminar, students get guidance in their research for Bachelor s Thesis. During the Thesis seminar, students will conduct research profiling in literature databases of their topic, prepare a 2-page research plan, report the progress of their thesis, present and defend their research results, act twice as an opponent, and participate actively in seminar discussions.

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    100% Research plan, seminar activity, final presentation at the seminar.

    Requirements for passing the seminar: completing the research plan and other possible assignments, presenting own thesis at the seminar, acting twice as an opponent, attending to 70% of the seminar sessions.
