CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    A course with varying content. Students become acquainted with the theme of each studio through lectures and group-work analyses. The assignment is carried out as an individual work. The design task is an extensive public building linked with a topical theme. Consideration is given to how the design process proceeds. A presentation of the building and its surroundings is prepared at the level of preliminary building approval drawings.

     

  • Applies in this implementation:

    In fall 2020 Building Design studio theme is Travel architecture on Arctic circle. The task is to design accommodation buildings and services to Rovaniemei area. Student can choose the site from three options. There is an excursion to Rovaniemi on 17.-18.9.2020.

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Approved individually carried out student assignment. A minimum of 80% attendance is obligatory in the tutored assignments. Participation in the group work, interim critiques and final critique is obligatory.

    Courses that are intended to be multidisciplinary (e.g. UWAS courses) may apply an order of priority based on the learning outcomes of the course, while bearing in mind the university obligation of enabling students to complete their degrees within the normative duration of study set for the degree. The order of priority does not apply to courses organised by the Centre for General Studies or doctoral courses.
