CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    The course covers key themes in urban studies and explores how different urban phenomena are manifested in space. It consists of readings, lectures and related small tasks and interactive discussions. During the course, each student will produce a paper about an urban phenomenon of choice, and explore how it relates to the literature in urban studies and what policy implication the phenomenon has.

     

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    The course consists of readings, lectures, weekly small tasks, discussions and writing a paper. Active participation is mandatory. The assessment is based on how the paper is completed in accordance with the instructions.

Workload
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    • Contact teaching 7 x 2 hrs (1:1)  = 28 hrs
    • Preparation of small tasks 6 x 0.5hrs (1:1) = 6 hours
    • Readings, 12 articles (approx. 33 pages, 3 hrs) = 40 hours
    • Research, writing and rewriting the paper + commenting on another student´s paper = 88 hours
