LEARNING OUTCOMES
The student will be able to plan and carry out an artistic project based on his/her own sensory perceptions and experiences. The student will explore new possibilities in representing landscape in relation to traditional ways especially the tradition of landscape painting.

Carrying out an art-project based on observing the landscape. Experimenting and combining various painting - and digital techniques. Introduction to traditional landscape painting.

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic situation, the teaching of this course is arranged remotely.
Teaching will be organised via Zoom, please see daily schedules in MyCourses, follow Announcements in MyCourses and your aalto.fi -email.During the course the main focus is in the concept of landscape and how it has been portrayed in art history and contemporary art. The course approach the topic through artistic practice and case studies of artworks and discussions on how the relationship between man and nature has changed throughout the history. The practical site consist of working both out in the nature and inside the studio. The course offers different artistic approaches to the concept of landscape and facilities to work on your own project.
The teachers of the course are visual artists Kati Lehtonen ( www.katilehtonen.com) and Juhana Moisander ( www.juhanamoisander.com ). The day will start with a lecture and the rest of the day will be practical work on the tasks and on your own projects dealing with the landscape.
