Content

Practising of the basic techniques in screenprinting. Preparation of the screen through hand painting and use of exposure. Printing material used: mesh.

Kurssilla tutustutaan serigrafian perustekniikoihin. Opettaja esittelee kurssin edetessä erilaisia tekotapoja kuten piirrosjäljen toistaminen serigafiatekniikalla sekä valokuvan toistaminen rasteroituna ja ilman rasterointia. Opiskelija tekee kurssin aikana kolme taideteosta näitä tekniikoita soveltaen.
On the course we get to know different basic screen printing techniques. The teacher will introduce such techniques as printing hand drawn originals and using photograph with and without halftone. The student makes at least three artworks using these methods.
Assessment Methods and Criteria

Two to three exercises, brief lectures and personal guidance.

Arvioinissa tarkatellaan opiskelijan kykyä soveltaa serigrafiatekniikkaa taiteellisessa ilmaisussaan sekä serigrafia tekniikan omaksumista ja hallintaa.
The evaluation is based on the students ability to apply the technique in artistic expression and the adoption of technical skills.

The course is organized as contact teaching. Because of the Covid19 situation the group is divided in morning and afternoon groups. Printing and screen preparation is done at the workshop and designing and planning at home.
