LEARNING OUTCOMES

The workshop deepens and strengthens the students' personal approach, visual thinking, and technical skills.The learning outcomes vary and are related to each workshop and they will be described in detail in the course description of each study event.

On a successful completion of the course, students

- have learned and are able to present & share ideas, skills and practices related to the course theme.

- are able to apply their new skills and practices to their own work

- can contextualize the thematic approach into the wider field of contemporary photography and dialogically assess their own practice in that frame

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Individual work and group work in the guidance of the teacher of the workshop.

  • Applies in this implementation:

    The workshop consists of lectures, assignments, group work, student presentations, tutoring and an individual photographic work with a review and discussion.

    The key objective of the workshop is to work together ot explore the concept of performativity and use it as an artistic method. The course aims to provide a grasp on conceptual artistic and photographic works, strengthen students' ability to work on a personal artistic project, introduce ideas around performativity in contemporary photographic art, and how they relate to photographic histories and practices, as well as encourage students to develop critical thinking in their work.


Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Typical ways of working are lectures, group discussions and practical works. Methods vary according to the workshop.

  • Applies in this implementation:

    This course requires 80% attendance in the scheduled remote meetings, as well as completing course assignments which include reading a text, producing a presentation in a small group, handing in small assignments, and accomplishing a photographic work. The course requires in addition to attendance, independent work on experiments and pieces for a reviewing and discussion event at the end of the course. Students are expected to use the allocated independent study days as well as their own time to develop their artistic project.
