Please note! Course description is confirmed for two academic years, which means that in general, e.g. Learning outcomes, assessment methods and key content stays unchanged. However, via course syllabus, it is possible to specify or change the course execution in each realization of the course, such as how the contact sessions are organized, assessment methods weighted or materials used.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
After the course, the students are able to
❏ Describe the history and current practices in immersive sounds, with an emphasis on the diversity of approaches and conceptualizations
❏ Describe a range of attentive/active spatial listening techniques and psychoacoustics, and apply them to creative or analytical work
❏ Apply hands-on skills in capturing, processing and reproducing immersive sounds, conscious of the relationship between technology, techniques and perceptive result
❏ Communicate and collaborate with different actors from multidisciplinary fields (scientific, technological, commercial, artistic)
❏ Analyze and conceptualize autonomously immersive sound installations or applications both from a technical as well as a creative standpoint

Assessment Methods and Criteria
Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:
Similarly, various assessment methods are employed to facilitate continuous assessment and feedback including learning diary, essays, quiz, lab process, project work, and presentation. Essentially, any assessment steps include a self-assessment, e.g., asking for quality of essay or quiz result. During the course, the student realizes an immersive sound project either artistic and/or technical.
Applies in this implementation:
There are 6 weekly assignments and 1 final project on immersive audio.
Each assignment is graded from 0-5 depending on the successfully completed subtasks.
The final project assignment is optionally done in a group and evaluated as such.
The overall grade is an average of all weekly assignments, deep dive presentations, and the final project.
