CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    The course is primarily intended for doctoral students. The key contents of the course consist of designing conference presentations and giving a presentation, as well as answering questions by the audience. The course takes a practical approach and is exercise-intensive. Students give a presentation on their research topic to the rest of the group and receive feedback for it. The presentations are recorded on video, and each student writes a self-evaluation on the basis of the video in order to gain tools to further develop their skills.

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Passing the course requires an 80% attendance rate in contact teaching, active participation and constructive attitude in class, exercises and feedback discussions, as well as passing all the assignments given on the course. The course working methods in class include interactive lectures, public speaking exercises and feedback discussions (12 h). Independent assignments consist of preparations for the presentation, analysing the video recording of one’s presentation and writing a self-evaluation report (15 hours).

    The course may also be completed as a 2-credit course. Those who complete a 2-credit version of the course, do a 1-credit independent learning assignment (essay or other assignment) in addition to the abovementioned tasks.
