The learning outcomes below define the knowledge, skills and competences the student is expected to acquire from the course.


In the module, the student must acquire theories and methods of analysis within one of several key communication areas. Courses are offered in: Aesthetics, Culture and Communication.


The student must acquire knowledge about: 

  • Current research within the discipline Aesthetics, Culture and Communication.
  • Theories within the discipline as well as comprehension of scientific objectives and problems within the field
  • Analytical methods of relevance for the discipline.


The student must acquire skills:  

  • to choose and use theory, methods and analytical approaches in relation to problems of the discipline
  • to analyze, discuss and evaluate communication interventions on a scientific basis within the discipline.



The student must acquire skills:  

  • to identify and define complex problems within the discipline and suggest new models for understanding and or solutions  
  • to combine knowledge and skills within the discipline.

    This online course introduces students to aesthetics, visual culture and communication in a contemporary perspective. The content of the course includes a combination of practical and theoretical investigation of how meaning-making comes about in visual production and participation on social media, in urban spaces and in artistic communication.

    Online course 96h + independent and group work 174h
    The online contact teaching hours and meeting times are confirmed at the beginning of the course.
