Students will   

  • have a good understanding of different types of businesses in the arts and educational field  
  • learn how to use art and design methods in ideation phase and problem solving to create a business idea  
  • learn creative multidisciplinary team work  
  • recognize the value of customer insight in the business development  
  • be familiar with the entrepreneurial ecosystem at Aalto University  
  • learn the first steps of starting a business.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    This course explores entrepreneurial openings in the arts and education in a changing world and work life. The core is ethical and responsible approach when addressing critical social issues, developing communities and promoting sustainability and equality with arts-based methods.

    Through practical design work, case examples and expert speakers the students will ideate, develop and test their own entrepreneurial idea in the fields of art and education.

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    To pass this course the student need to finish the assignments thoroughly, take part in discussions, and give a presentation of the final work together with the team. In addition, 80% attendance is required.
