LEARNING OUTCOMES

Students learn to practice lyric essay to foster their own academic writing style. Students practice how poetry and document, Web story and research, might be used to spark insight. A final course project, due ten days after intensive week, calls for a work of prose, poetry, or new media that employs course concepts and practices to engage or intervene in each participant s academic research interests.

Content

    In this one-week intensive writing course, students will read, discuss, and practice a variety of writing modes, with the aim of expanding discursive repertoire in any chosen genre, including academic works.

    Active participation on reading reflections and other discourses. Production of writing and the final paper.
