The goal is to develop a doctoral-level understanding of the most widely used theoretical approaches to the study of organizations. The course develops understanding of the variety of the perspectives, and their differing assumptions and focuses. Furthermore, the course prepares student to contribute to organization theory.

The perspectives vary yearly, but cover majority of the key perspectives, including: decision making and strategic perspectives; behavioral perspectives; institutional perspective; practice theory perspectives; interpretative and sensemaking perspectives; discourse, rhetoric and narrative perspectives; and change and historical perspectives.

The course is organized jointly with Aalto BIZ and Hanken with a common name of "Perspectives on organization". The course is run by each organizing party with yearly rotation. Expected schedule is Hanken 2020, and Tuta 2021. If in doubt on arrangements, check directly from responsible teacher.
