LEARNING OUTCOMES

After completing this course, you will be able to

The course assignments are designed to form a portfolio of your skills as a storyteller. You will learn the basics of structuring and writing a story, gain live storytelling experience, and build your professional network as a part of course assignments.


Experience in storytelling will help you steer your future career in the direction you want it to go. It will allow you to seize the moment and take the stage at important junctions of your life. As an entrepreneur or working for an organization, storytelling allows you to understand stakeholders, engage them into dialogue, and inspire others to do likewise.

Content

    The goal of the course is to provide a practical deep-dive into effective communications. Students will learn to apply it in their own lives and careers through a series of exercises. The course emphasizes iterative cycles of research and practice, where personal storytelling skills are developed through feedback and discussion. Students must be prepared to tell stories in front of the class every class period.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Students will be evaluated on the basis of attendance, in-class participation, storytelling improvement, and overall storytelling quality. In addition to daily storytelling practice and participation, students will complete a mid-course assignment. The
