Content

This course is an introduction to the diverse approaches to the notion of narrative, especially in the context of design and visual communication. Designers, artists, writers, and researchers introduce examples of narratives which work over multiple modes of communication, including but not limited to text, image, layout, typography, photography, choreography, and comics, as well as time-based media such as animation, games, and motion graphics. The course includes critical examination of the ubiquitous role of narratives in the contemporary society.
Assessment Methods and Criteria

Good attendance, class exercises and course assignments. Successful completion of the course will require 80 % attendance. Students will be required to give course feedback in order to successfully complete this course.
