LEARNING OUTCOMES

"UWAS Doctoral Workshop" offers doctoral students across Aalto an opportunity to engage with artistic and arts-based research perspectives, including methodologies, theoretical frameworks, and current themes. The course can also be organized as a transdisciplinary research workshop or project.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    Participatory Practices and Social Change.

    Students will learn how different participatory experiences in arts and design have engaged with scientific and technical disciplines in search of social change. They will also learn how these practices have enriched site-specific debates in their particular environments, springing critical discussions on tensions between local and global politics, economics and culture.

    UWAS course selection criteria: Registration order is not the primary selection criteria for this course. In order to ensure that students from different programs and schools of Aalto University may take UWAS courses, the selection is also based on the variety of students' disciplines.
