LEARNING OUTCOMES

Students will learn about new trends, styles, approaches, discourses, praxis, critical thinking, or other phenomena affecting the field of documentary film. Students will expand their understanding of what documentary is, and can be, through studying some of its most relevant and cutting-edge developments.

Content

    This varying theme course focuses on developments in the field of documentary film. It can cover new narrative, formal or aesthetic developments, new discourses, critical debates, practices, interdisciplinary engagements, technologies, etc.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Lectures, film screenings and discussions. Completion of the course requires active participation in class activities and completion of an essay assignment or oral presentation.
