LEARNING OUTCOMES
Through participation in this course, students further develop personal and collective research and artistic aims, define their understanding of different theoretical, artistic, pedagogical, and activist approaches to addressing social justice and environmental concerns and speciesm. Students apply different theories to evaluate art, cultural and education projects that aim to shape people's attitudes, beliefs and behaviour concerning ecology, social justice, equality and sustainability. Through planning, facilitating, and evaluating a thematic research-based individual or group project, students deepen their understanding on the possibilities for applying theoretical and artistic knowledge onto projects that aim at public engagement and activism.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD
Content

During the course, different theoretical and pedagogical approaches are introduced, compared and evaluated.
Relying on theory, practical knowledge, and collaborative efforts, the group creates and facilitates a public project. Conducted in collaboration with partners, the course deepens students' understanding and practical knowledge of sustainable efforts by individuals and organisations that aim to reverse destruction, to build sustainable and less cruel societies as well as to impact people's perceptions of democratic cultures. During the course, participants work with other professionals from the fields of science, culture, media, economics and/or materials productions and explore how arts, art activism, and public art pedagogy can positively participate in or facilitate these projects.
