LEARNING OUTCOMES

- You will be able to understand texts better whether related to work or everyday life.

- You will have a better knowledge of the customs and cultures of Spanish-speaking countries.

- You will know the main norms of etiquette and recognise the major differences between Spanish culture and your own in terms of customs, behaviours, attitudes and values.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    In this course students acquire greater language skills and cultural knowledge, in particular concerning the educational system, working life and the diversity among Spanish-speaking cultures. Students learn to describe experiences, events, preferences and desires, and learn to defend their own opinions and describe their plans. After the course, students will be able to manage in most situations they may come across in travelling around the Spanish-speaking world.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Passing the course requires regular attendance, active participation and independent work.

    - Written assignments (30%)
    - Oral test (20%)
    -Written test (50%)

Workload

  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    36 h of contact hours + 45 h of independent work. On any integrated implementations of the course, the workload may vary according to the implementation method.
