CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The course introduces students to different aspects of communication and trains their public speaking and interactive skills. The focus is on developing communication skills. Key themes include communication and interaction, discussion, listening, feedback, group communication, public speaking and stage fright. The course is well-suited to be taken as the first (speech) communication course.

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    Passing the course requires an 80% attendance rate in contact teaching, active and constructive participation in class, group work and exercises, as well as passing all the assignments given on the course. The course working methods include interactive lectures, pair and group work, exercises, feedback sessions and independent learning assignments.

    The course may be completed as a 2-credit or 3-credit course. Those who do a 3-credit version of the course, do an independent learning assignment (essay or other assignment) in addition to the abovementioned tasks.
