FURTHER INFORMATION

Further Information
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

Training for the teaching assistant duties is organized by the responsible teacher of the course being taught. The course can be taken several times (for up to 10 cr during the MSc studies). The number of study points is determined the number of times the student has worked as an assistant on that particular course. The second time awards 3 cr while the first, third etc. award 2 cr.
In practice, the study points can be obtained as follows:
    1. The student enrolls on a teaching assistant course based on the degree he/she wants to include the credits in. If the credits are to be a part of a bachelor s degree, the student enrolls in the course Kurssiapulaisena Kemian tekniikan korkeakoulussa (CHEM-C2000). If the credits are to be a part of a master s degree, the student enrolls in Teaching Assistant Duties at the School of Chemical Engineering (CHEM-E0125).
    2. After the teaching has concluded, the student carefully fills out the report form for teaching assistants. The form can be found in the MyCourses-page of the course selected at step 1. Note that there are two alternative report forms: one for the first-time assistants of a particular course and another for those who have taught on the same course multiple times.
    3. The responsible teacher reads the report and accepts it. The study credits are awarded based on the accepted reports after the spring and autumn periods.
