LEARNING OUTCOMES

Students will deepen their knowledge about technical equipment and how to adapt it to different filming circumstances and needs for documentary filmmaking. Students will also improve their skills for understanding the relationship of technical solutions and scheduling, demands of working conditions and content of the film.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    Students will gain knowledge of different camera-, grip- and lighting equipment solutions and also different filming methods of documentary films.

    Students will execute short exercises in small groups.

    All material will be screened and evaluated together with students and teachers.

    This workshop can also be used for developing students upcoming MA-document film as a part of the pre-production.

    Pass failed

    Planning and working are evaluated during the workshop in checkpoints and during final screening by general discussion and feedback.

Workload

    4 cr.

    Lectures, visits and conversations 40%. Filming rehearsals 40%. Screenings and feedback 20%.

    Participating at the opening day of the workshop is mandatory.

    Some of the rehearsals will be executed in outside conditions students have to have proper clothing for working outside.

    Participants will be selected primarily among students of documentary film, cinematography, sound and producing. And secondly according to the order of enrolments.
