Modular graphic design with GlyphDrawing.Club is a hands-on workshop. During the week we will be exploring the process of creating modular graphics, type and illustration using the GlyphDrawing.Club -editor. There will be some lectures where we look at the history of text art and modular design, but most of the time will be spent experimenting with the editor in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. At the end of the workshop week, we will combine the works/output into a small collective publication/project. See the results from previous years here: https://gdc-workshops.aalto.fi/
This course is meant for everybody whether you are advanced in design looking for a new tool/process or just a curious mind. To participate all you need is an open mind, willingness to play and to learn something new.
The workshop will be held in english.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the workshop the participants will have learned
—a brief history of text art and modular design with lots of examples from the past
—how to create graphics, type and illustrations using the modular design method
