LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completing the course, you will:

- Manage with common situations and simple presentations in Chinese
- Translate and write very basic text by using tools
- Understand more about Chinese business culture
- Have learned basic grammar structures of Chinese
- Distinguish about 150 characters
- Have collaborated in group work

Content

    - Character recognition (about 150)
    - Information searches
    - Talking about your plans
    - Expression of time
    - Going shopping and ordering food in a restaurant
    - Expressing tense and aspect in Chinese
    - Getting access to Chinese business culture
    - Writing simple sentences
    - Reviewing the characters with H5P interactive activities

Assessment Methods and Criteria

  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    1. Lectures 36 h and self-study 45 h, active participation. (Passing the course requires 75 % attendance in class.)
    2. Group work, oral and written assignments (40 %)
    3. Oral test (30 %)
    4. Written exam (30 %)

Workload

    36 h (group lessons) + 45 h (self-study)
