LEARNING OUTCOMES

On completing the course, you will have gained a systematic proficiency of Russian. You will be familiar with the vocabulary of your specific field and be able to convincingly deliver a presentation. You will understand and be able to compose business letters the follow the conventions for business writing, and have learnt to distinguish differences between the business environments of Finland and internationally and apply this knowledge to your own work.

Content

    The major forms and grammar used in the field, communication situations related to work life along with the related knowledge of the international countries and customs.

    Course participants practise delivering speeches or other presentations using different speech communication methods.

    The course covers different types of texts of current interest.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    The course requires regular attendance, active participation in class and completion of homework assignments. Composition of various types of business correspondence. A combined written and oral examination. The weights given to the different assignments in the final grade are specified at the start of the course.
