Students will be able to:

  • articulate and argue scientifically 
  • translate theortecial knowledge to a design task
  • applying hands-on skills in scripting
  • formulate strategies for innovative urban and landscape architecture research by design in the realm of computational thinking
  • identify and assess relevant case studies and literature

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The course reflects on computational skill building (Phyton, Grasshopper) and the theoretical elements of the design topic of ARK-E5511 Digital Speculative Urbanism Studio. Practical scripting sessions as well as reading seminars and discussions open up a fundamental theoretical and practical understanding of the design studio topic.

Workload

    Tutored studies 21 hrs (lectures, group work, assignments, reading seminars, workshops), independent study 60 hrs (assignments), in total 81 hrs (approx. 27 working hours = 1 ECTS).
