  • The primary outcome of the summer school is acquisition of Innovation & Entrepreneurship skills by the participants empowering their potential to generate value for the manufacturing world.
  • Additionally, the team work environment and the social program organized during the 3-week period of the school facilitate the creation of a network of future professionals that will last well beyond the school duration.
  • The close interaction between students, companies, lecturers and innovation experts create a fertile ground for the generation of new ideas that can be exploited by all the actors taking part to the school leading to the creation of additional value in their business environment.

    The Summer School focuses on Manufacturing technological trends, environmental and societal challenges and in developing innovation and entrepreneurship skills for the manufacturing world. The main topics include product/service design, ethical, societal and sustainability aspects, business model, stakeholders analysis, revenue model, business pitch, market and competitors analysis, IPR, go-to market strategy, business development strategy, financing, and risk analysis.

    The Summer School provides, wherever needed, a preparatory phase through digital content, to allow all students to get the same basic knowledge.

    The Summer School includes front lessons and a learning by doing approach. During the lessons speakers from companies, business evangelists, business angels and entrepreneurs, active in the field of manufacturing, share their thoughts and experiences, and professors from leading universities provide the needed theoretical framework of innovation and entrepreneurship. Moreover, the students face challenges, provided by real cases, and develop their innovative ideas for a more sustainable manufacturing. They also learn how to pitch their ideas in front of a panel of leading experts.

    The real case assigned is developed along the Summer School duration time through the support of specific mentors. During the final pitch the students demonstrate the result of the achieved new skills and capabilities.

    The purpose of the summer school is to develop students’ creativity, problem solving, innovation and entrepreneurship, leadership and sustainability skills and their intercultural and international network.

    The course is organized by EIT Manufacturing Master School. The course is mandatory for the EIT Manufacturing Master School students and it is a 2-3 weeks training taking place during summertime, usually in July, where min. 2 weeks are on site in a European location. Dates, duration and location are announced beginning of January of each year.
