CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The course consists of an individual design project, lectures, workshops and dialogue with tutors. Students have the possibility to direct the specialization of their own project through combined studio courses. The course introduces students to methods of innovative garment shaping and advanced 3D experimentation. Students are challenged to reconsider the shaping and structuring of garments and to develop an alternative approach as a base for their personal design project. The course familiarizes students with how emerging technologies, materiality as well as the use of digital tools and spaces may impact and benefit their design practice. The course includes an option to study basics of Clo3D software.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    The final grade for the course is based on student’s attendance and participation in contact teaching as well as the assignments completed during the course. Students must attend and actively participate in at least 80% of the contact teaching sessions. Introductory session is mandatory.

  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    The scope of the course is 12 cr, which can include either MUO-E1045 Printed Fabrics Studio or MUO-E1069 Knits and Knitwear studio, based on student's Personal Study Plan approved by the academic advisor. After the approval student should register to the studio course separately. With integrated studio courses, the scope of the core course can be 6, 9 or 12 cr.
