Participants that successfully complete the course should be:

  • Capable to identify translation and facilitation challenges of collaborative design proceses
  • Able to critically discuss and apply various collaborative and participatory techniques for design, together with other members of a team
  • Comfortable with designing interactive and collaborative sessions with care, effectiveness, purpose and detail

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The course adopts a participatory hands-on approach that builds participants’ design competences with a specific collaborative and participatory twist. The collective learning journey includes exercies in agenda setting, translation, facilitation, method choice and managing of co-creative activities. Tecniques, methods and skills introduced are useful in coreographing design projects for creative sustainability and will help building a personal repertoire of collaborative design practices.

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    Active participation during lectures, exercises and group work (meassured via self reflection and peer evaluation)

    Learnind Diary = an entry per day (aprox 400 words) that incorporates reflections on the course discussions, exercises, reading materials and group work)

    Final group exercise where participants will design, organize and facilitate and interactive collaborative design event (formats can vary ranging from play session to workshop). By the end of the course each group will deliver: 1) A 3 page document presenting the concept for the session, design rationale, collaborativ approach and background assumptions 2) A detailed session plan with timetable, material lists and roles 3) invitation materials (printed and digital) 4) A max 4 page report of the pilot session
