    TU-E3041 Leadership and Change Management is a course on how to plan and manage organizational changes so that each individual would thrive and perform at their best. During the course, you will become familiar with various theories of motivation and various leadership styles. You will learn when and how to adjust motivation and leadership styles to match different persons and situations. You will also learn about challenges that managers and employees face during various organizational changes (e.g., mergers and acquisitions, transformation, etc.). More importantly, you will become familiar with how to plan organizational changes and how to manage employees during organizational changes.

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    Up to 40 points are given for the following elements

    • Reflection notes (individual work): 10 points
    • Online quizzes (individual work): 10 points
    • Final assignment (individual work): 15 points
    • Group case-solving (in groups): 5 points (optional)

    To pass, you must return the final assignment and get at least one point (so you can’t pass just with reflection notes and online quizzes, even if you get 20 points from them).

    You can get at most 4 without doing the optional group case-solving

Students are given priority as follows: 1) Master's students in Industrial Engineering and Management program, 2) students minoring in Leadership and Change Management, 3) exchange students in the Industrial Engineering and Management Master´s programme, and 4) other students. Bachelor's students can be accepted if the bachelor's degree is almost completed and the smooth progress of studies requires the commencement of master's studies.
