CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    In the thesis seminar, students get guidance in their research for Bachelor s Thesis. During the seminar, students will conduct research profiling in literature databases of their topic, prepare a 2-page research plan, report the progress of their thesis, present and defend their research results, act twice as an opponent, and participate actively in seminar discussions. Based on the feedback received at the seminar discussions, the students finalize their thesis work.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    Research plan, reflection reports, thesis draft, seminar activity (including opponent notes), final presentation at the seminar, final thesis submission.

    Requirements for passing the seminar: introductory lectures, completing the research plan and other assignments, presenting own thesis draft at the seminar, acting twice as an opponent, attending to 70% of the thesis handling seminar sessions, submitting the final thesis.

    - introductory lectures (partly online using tutorial videos)

    - doing assignments (research plan, learning diaries, opponent's memoranda)

    The students are divided into thesis groups based on their research plans (around 4-5 weeks after the seminar starts).
