Content

    Japanese woodblock printmaking is non-toxic method of relief printing. All pigments used are water-based and most materials and tools come straight from Japan. During the course you will learn how to handle carving tools properly and how to register a multi-coloured print with perfection. In addition to basic working methods, you will learn various printing techniques of traditional mokuhanga.You also have an opportunity to examine genuine old ukiyo-e prints from teacher s collection.

    The student selection is done randomly if there are more candidates than there are number of seats. The first lecture of the course is mandatory. If the confirmed student isn’t able to attend the first lecture, the student must cancel their enrolment, and the free slot be raffled among the candidates. Passing the course requires 80 percent attendance and completion of the exercises. Minimum amount of participants is 8 students, maximum 15.
