LEARNING OUTCOMES
Course readings, lecture, discussions, and assignments provide opportunities for further developing understandings of (art) pedagogy in higher education as multifaceted and complex. Collective learning, dialogic learning culture and peer reflections are essential for learning in this course. Students explore and articulate personal perspectives and relevance of the themes for one's understanding of epistemology and pedagogy in the context of teaching, research, and artistic practice.

Content

This course is intended for text-based discussions on a variety of perspectives to pedagogy, especially at (art) universities. Key themes that expand and challenge traditional notions of pedagogy will be explored. Themes include critical and performative pedagogy, arts pedagogy for public engagement, non-normative and emancipatory approaches to pedagogy, new materialism and embodied pedagogy, and critical notions of the corporate university.
Assessment Methods and Criteria

Self, peer, and instructor evaluations. Active engagement in course related independent, peer and group activities. Completion of all identified assignment (please see MyCourses site for more information).
