LEARNING OUTCOMES

The doctoral student
- has knowledge of the content of doctoral studies and forms of doctoral theses
- is introduced to research work and to concepts of presenting your research
- can identify the basic tools of a researcher, basic methodologies and forms of research in the research fields of the School of Arts, Design and Architecture
- can identify ethical issues related to artistic research
- knows how to do a doctoral personal study plan

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The course consists of an intensive week of seminars, lectures and visitor talks. Possible topics introduced: research ethics, methodologies overview, research skills, forms of dissertation, research areas in the School of Arts, Design and Architecture, career issues, artistic research etc.
    Participants are expected to present their research idea and participate in the discussions.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    Course assignment, 1 ECTS (compulsory)
    Active participation, 80% presence required, 1 ECTS (optional)

  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    1 ECTS = 27h, 2 ECTS = 52h
    lectures and discussion (intesive week), independent work, presentation
