Proficiency in dealing with audio in terms of technology and aesthetics, deeper understanding of the various facets concerning the art & craft of sound design, deeper knowledge on audio and music hardware and software. Deeper practical knowledge about professional audio production practices, tools, problem framing and solving; getting acquainted with earlier Master's Theses completed in Sound in New Media; getting familiar with the sound and music community in the department, in ARTS and elsewhere in Sound in New Media networks.

Sound Seminar is a weekly meeting in two parts. The first half (Sound Clinic) is aiming at providing proficiency in dealing with audio both in terms of technology and aesthetics. The second half (Sound Seminar) is meant for sharing and discussing students' ongoing and future sound projects. Furthermore, the Seminar prepares students for their MA thesis writing and production.

The first half of the weekly class (Sound Clinic) is focusing on sound as material for art and design. A lot of hands-on exercises and contemplative listening will be done both during
the contact hours and as homework assignments. The students' projects should be completed by the beginning of
period V and preferably presented also within the Spring Demo Day.The second half (Sound Seminar) typically includes a round of short (ca. 5-10 min) informal presentations of
students ongoing sound-related projects and activities.
